Digital functions increase the resilience of the power system
The equivalent of 2,166 tons of CO2 saved
Sustainable energy distribution for future generations
Introducing SF₆-free MV substation from ED Netze
With our support, ED Netze GmbH has implemented a 110/20 kV substation with 17 medium voltage switchgear cubicles that avoid the greenhouse gas SF6. It helps integrate an increasing number of distributed energy resource (DER) systems into the energy network. This promotes the growth of industry in the region with enhanced environmental safety.
Understand the importance of future-ready grid expansion
The accelerating integration of DER and the industry growth require a forward-looking expansion of the power supply in Löffingen. To meet environmental requirements and ensure high performance and future viability, we need robust and sustainable solutions. The answer is to eliminate the use of the SF6 and take advantage of new digital technologies.
Discover climate-friendly energy supply
ED Netze uses 17 gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) MV cubicles in their new substation. Instead of SF6, it has pure air insulation. Native sensors and digital functions of the power system enable proactive monitoring and processes such as preventive maintenance. It increases the personnel safety, resilience, and longevity of the MV network.
Explore power distribution of the future
With the new SF6-free MV switchgear, we can avoid 2,166 tons of CO2 equivalent. It’s an important step for the energy supply of the future. The integrated voltage measurement provides clear insights into current flows and is the base for optimal energy distribution. Thermal monitoring of the power system increases work safety and MV equipment durability.
