Methodology

Schneider Electric has undertaken an Australian market survey on the corporate approach to sustainability. The survey was designed to explore drivers and barriers affecting the sustainability journey of businesses, as well as the role of technology in achieving sustainability goals.

Corporate Australia is embracing sustainability, but struggling to act, even though most companies see climate change as a major operational risk and support Australia’s transition to net zero. Research conducted on behalf of Schneider Electric polled more than 500 decision-makers and the findings reveal that three-quarters (76%) of respondents believe sustainable transformation offers a competitive edge, up 13% on 2021. Additionally, most (79%) respondents agree that “digital is playing a key role in achieving sustainability goals” and more than half (57%) have increased digital technology investment to improve sustainability.
