What motivates and excites you about your role at Schneider Electric?
Schneider is a global leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation and being part of the Schneider team allows me to contribute to a more sustainable future for my family and broader community while being at the forefront of innovation and technology.
We’re one of the leading companies in the world when it comes to sustainability. How are you and your team contributing to this?
I am passionate about bringing technology and innovation to our customers and partners.
By encouraging our customers to look forward in their business perspective, my team and I empower them to embrace innovation and technologies that strengthen their value proposition and contribute to a more sustainable future.
In terms of sustainability, which person or organisation do you consider to be an ‘#ImpactMaker’ and why?
Oz Harvest. As a core function, this Australian charity stops good food from going to waste by delivering it to charities that help feed people in need.
I consider Oz Harvest an #ImpactMaker because they successfully lobbied state governments to amend legislation to allow potential food donors to give their surplus food to charities without fear of liability. Oz Harvests actions provided a lasting social, economic, and environmental uplift to communities across Australia resulting in a better and more sustainable world.
What was a moment in your career that was pivotal or changed you in some way?
In 2022, I took time out to assess my career and my experience. Reflecting on my career gave me a greater appreciation for the importance of balance for me to be the most effective leader I can be.
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
I have been fortunate to be mentored by some outstanding individuals; interestingly, the advice they gave all had similar themes:
- Experience is something you get after you need it, so say yes to opportunities.
- Be humble, the fastest way to earn respect is by giving it.
- Be intentional and focused, otherwise you will be distracted by ‘white noise.’
Which of our company values resonates with you most and why?
Curiosity, I have always been innately curious about the world and people. My curiosity has taught me how to think deeply and critically analyse information and perspectives. My curiosity has created opportunities to undertake some incredible experience and learn from extremely intelligent and talented individuals.
