New EcoXpert badge provides enhanced security to smart buildings

Sydney NSW, Australia

04/02/2022

Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has launched a new EcoXpert badge to provide partners with even greater integrated building automation solutions.

As part of the company’s EcoXpert Partner Program, these badges accredit qualified engineers to install and maintain smart technology as Australia makes the switch to more digitised buildings.

Previously, Schneider Electric has trained and certified engineers in two separate areas including building management systems, and light and room control. Now, the program is expanding with a new security platform and Access Control Badge for EcoXperts.

“The new access control offering has been carefully designed to meet the growing security needs of Australian corporate businesses. Once installed, our partners will be able to seamlessly safeguard occupants and facility assets, while remaining resource efficient,” says Gavin McClelland, Offer Marketing Manager at Schneider Electric.

Partners' wants and needs were at the forefront of this solution. The new offering provides a fully integrated control system that is IT friendly, easy to control, and time efficient by eliminating the need for multiple systems.

The technology also runs on a role-based set-up, restricting access based on the individual or group, based on their business responsibilities. Building on this, the functionality also gives the user control over who can access physical IT assets, buildings, rooms and campuses for an extra level of protection.

“Not only are we continuously striving to provide our partners with the latest in innovation, we want to equip the industry with the knowledge and skill sets needed to enable smarter buildings and connected homes.

“The new certification will train EcoXperts on the latest in digital technologies so that they can build on their expertise in designing and installing access control solutions, such as intrusion detection, that will be required in future smart buildings,” adds McClelland.

The new badge is now available to system integrators across Australia. After a four day intensive course, each organisation will leave with a qualification that will enable them to provide access control to small, mid and large enterprises.
