Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, today announced the latest version of its award-winning software, EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert (PME). Designed to simplify management of complex power systems, this newest addition to the EcoStruxure Power edge control portfolio provides the most complete insight into critical power networks and applications.
Power Monitoring Expert is a key element within the EcoStruxure Power platform, part of Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure architecture, the open and interoperable system architecture for building, grid, industry, and data center customers. This latest edition of PME significantly augments its industry leading edge control offers and is an essential platform within a connected and integrated power distribution network.
“EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert is part of our answer to digitalized energy. Today’s grid is no longer linear and has alternative energy sources coming from many different places. It can place huge stresses on everyone whose job it is to ensure keep their business resilient with minimal disruptions. PME brings some unique new capabilities that make it simpler to keep operations running, protect people and assets, and save time and money,” noted Farokh Ghadially, Vice President of Power Products & Solutions for Schneider Electric Australia. “PME provides a future-proof adaptability that modern power networks need. It connects to smart devices across your electrical system, from power and energy meters, to protective relays and circuit breakers, RTUs and PLCs, VSDs, UPS, and PQ mitigation equipment. Today there is untapped energy efficiency potential in industry of over 50%, so this represents massive new possibilities to reduce energy costs and improve operational efficiency.”
Powerful features
EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert (PME) still provides the industry's most advanced capabilities around several innovations:
- Multi-site power quality performance analysis: monitor and manage power quality across multiple sites to identify issues that could cause disruptions to operations.
- Point-by-point waveform analysis: new cursor analysis mode allows selection of two waveform reference points to compare differences in voltage, current, phase, RMS, and power factor values between those two points.
- More EcoStruxure Power applications: arc flash detection (Easergy P5), arc fault protection (with Acti9 Active), breaker performance monitoring (Micrologic Xi, Compact NSX), and backup power monitoring (Galaxy V series).
- Easy PME device import: import device settings easily from ION Setup or
EcoStruxure Power Commission to help get PME up and running quickly.
