Schneider Electric, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has joined the Sustainability Tech Council as a founding member as part of its commitment to advancing its own sustainability agenda and to support Australian organisations in achieving their sustainability goals.
The Sustainability Tech Council is a first-of-its-kind initiative that aims to leverage a collective commitment on the issue of addressing climate change to set a new sustainability agenda through joint industry action and innovative technology solutions. Through transparency, education, awareness, and standardisation, it aims to democratise access to sustainability information to government, enterprises and small to medium-sized businesses, regardless of their size or sector.
The Council brings together leading companies and executives who share a commitment to addressing climate change, and other hand-selected launch members include Cisco, Microsoft, Data#3, Moxie Insights, and NTT.
“Schneider Electric is proud to be a founding member of the Sustainability Tech Council and to hold itself accountable to sustainability targets, as well as sharing its knowledge and insights to support others,” said Joe Craparotta, Vice President IT Business at Schneider Electric.
“We understand the challenges that organisations face when it comes to sustainability and view the Council as a significant step forward in impacting progress by making sustainability more accessible. I’d personally like to acknowledge the foundation members and their commitment to our industry and the sustainability imperative, also to the Schneider team that has been activating our membership.”
At launch, key areas of focus include green data centres, energy-efficient technologies, supply chain sustainability and e-waste management, complemented by a cross-industry commitment to training, advocacy and standards.
