Goals and Symptoms
StruxureWare Power Monitoring requires a compatible version of SQL Server. It is possible to do an in-place upgrade of SQL Server 2005 to a supported SQL Server version. This is a prerequisite for an upgrade from ION Enterprise to StruxureWare Power Monitoring 7.0.1.
Causes and Fixes
The attached document describes how to perform an in-place upgrade of SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition for both Stand Alone and Distributed ION Enterprise system in preparation for an upgrade to StruxureWare Power Monitoring 7.0.1. This document does not address the case where an existing ION Enterprise system is using SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. For this case, see RESL207643.
