Can a GV2/GV3 device be used on the output of a drive?
Issue:
GV2 as isolation or overload on the motor.
Product Line:
Altivar drives, Tesys GV manual starters
Environment:
All
Cause:
Installation or Multimotor
Resolution:
It is not recommended to use GV2's because the range frequency is only for 50/60Hz and it does not function well with the PWM output from a drive. The GV2 may nuisance trip and/or overheat.
When the application is done with multi motors in parallel Schneider recommends a thermal relay such as TeSys LRD or LR3D (Class 10).
The TeSys LRD or LR3D work on the range frequency 0 to 400Hz.
