VIDEO - How do I configure Trio J Series radios to communicate with each other using the Trio Web User Interface?

Trio Radio
Environment:
Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10, on 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System
Solution:
- Factory reset your radio
- Change your computer’s IP address to 192.168.2.xxx (not 192.168.2.15 though)
- Connect the computer to only the “Remote” radio via Ethernet.
- Open your web browser, go to address “http://192.168.2.15/”
- Click on “setup” tab in top toolbar then click on Wizards in left-hand toolbar
- Configure radio to be point to point remote radio
- Record the serial number
- Change IP Address to be unique
- Change the “Subnet ID” from “default” to your network name and click “active configuration” in top right corner
- Wait about 60 seconds then in the web search bar type the new IP Adress of the radio. You may need to change your computer’s IP address to remain on the same subnet as your radio.
- Once connected, click “setup” again, then click “network” (under “configuration”) in left-hand toolbar
- Observe that there are many more parameters that can be set for diagnostics, security and identification purposes
- Go to eDiags and enable them, make the “Controller 1 IP Address” your computer’s IP Address
- Scroll to the top of the page and click “active configuration” in top right corner. An error will pop up prompting you to setup up security because security is automatically enabled by default. The remote radio is now configured for communicating and diagnostics
- Now connect to your Access point radio via Ethernet. It is ok to be connected to both radios at the same time now because they both have different IP Addresses. If needed, change your computer’s IP address to 192.168.2.xxx (not 192.168.2.15 though)
- Open a new tab in your web browser, go to address “http://192.168.2.15/”
- Following the previous procedure, configure the radio to be a point to point access point radio
- Change IP Address to be unique but place it on the same subnet as your remote radio
- Change the “Subnet ID” from “default” to your network name (same as for the remote)
- Type your remote radio’s serial number in the trusted serial number box
- Scroll to top of page and click “active configuration” in top right corner
- Wait about 60 seconds then in the web search bar type your new IP Address. Remember if you change the subnet of your ip address you will need to change your computer’s ip address to remain on the same subnet as your radio.
- Once connected, click “setup” again, then click “network” (under “configuration”) in left-hand toolbar
- Go to eDiags and enable them, make the “Controller 1 IP Address” your computer’s IP Address
- Scroll to top of page and click “active configuration” in top right corner
- Both radios should be synchronized now. So, the sync LEDs on each radio should now blink yellow/green instead of red. To prove they are synchronized we can view the connected radios on the network in the diagnostics, browse network section. We can also do a packet transmission test.
- Click on diagnostics, packet transmission test. Type in the serial number of the remote radio you are communicating with and click “start test”. Once the test is finished view the results and see the number of packets received should be very close to those sent.
- Now we can do eDiags, open Tview management suite, create a new file
- Fill in the known details for your access point radio, i.e. unit name, unit serial number, model, communication port, and remote IP address remote
- Click “apply changes to database” then “add new” and do the same for your remote radio
- Create your eDiags port, type in the IP address of your computer
- Start group poll
