UPS LCD Stuck During a UPS Firmware Upgrade
Issue: While updating the UPS firmware, the UPS LCD may get stuck and continuously show "Downloading 0%". Refer to the example below:
Product Line: SRTL5KRM2UI, SRTL5KRM2UT, SRTL8KRM4UI, SRTL8KRM4UT, SRTL10KRM4UI, SRTL10KRM4UT
Environment: UPS units with ID 1226 and 1227
Resolution:
NOTE: While the UPS LCD is in a stuck state, do not press the System Enable Switch located on the rear panel of the UPS. Pressing the System Enable Switch will cause the UPS to enter a state where the functionality of the UPS cannot be recovered in the field.
Follow the below steps to resolve the issue:
The firmware files required for downgrade and upgrade are attached to this FAQ. Extract the .enc firmware file from the archive before initiating the firmware upgrade.

Environment: UPS units with ID 1226 and 1227
Resolution:
NOTE: While the UPS LCD is in a stuck state, do not press the System Enable Switch located on the rear panel of the UPS. Pressing the System Enable Switch will cause the UPS to enter a state where the functionality of the UPS cannot be recovered in the field.
Follow the below steps to resolve the issue:
- Log into the UPS Network Management Card, and verify the UPS firmware version.
- If the UPS firmware has already been upgraded to the expected firmware version:
- For UPS units with ID1226, perform a firmware downgrade to version 03.0, and then repeat the firmware upgrade to the latest version.
- For UPS units with ID1227, perform a firmware downgrade to version 01.0, and then repeat the firmware upgrade to the latest version.
- To downgrade the UPS firmware, use the appropriate firmware file attached to this article.
- Note: Always use the firmware file with the ID corresponding to the UPS ID. Follow the link the video guide on How to locate the UPS ID for APC Smart-UPS
- If the UPS firmware has not been upgraded to the expected firmware version, initiate a firmware upgrade to the latest version.
