How do I troubleshoot the Modbus Serial on the Altivar Process Drive?

Drive Will Not Connect
- Installation
- Make sure Modbus cable (not Ethernet cable) is connected to the appropriate Modbus serial port.
- Pin Layout - Make sure to use proper pinouts
- Isolate any electrical interference
- Use conduits
- Separate control and power connections
- Add terminating resistors if the drive is at the end or the last of device in the network.
- Network
- Check for any duplicate addresses on the network.
- Check to make sure you have proper configured assemblies
- Programming
- Check Basic Settings on the drive. Make sure the following is set:
- Modbus Address
- Modbus Baud Rate
- Make sure drive is power cycled after any Communication settings are made.
