What is the general rule in recommending shielded and non-shielded motor cables for drives?

Cause:
N/A

Resolution:
If you do not have metallic conduit ( i.e. non-metallic piping or trays ), shielded cable is recommended so that noise is not radiated. According to EMC directives, shielded cable is required.
