NetBotz 700 Series | Configuring Alarm Thresholds and Notifications (email & SNMP Traps)

Configuring Alarm Thresholds
1) Log into the web interface of the NetBotz appliance using an administrator account.
2) In the upper-right corner of the screen, click Settings and then Alarm Configuration.
3) To create a new threshold, click on the Add button and select the type of sensor you need to create an alarm threshold for. To edit an existing threshold, click on Edit to the right of the line item.
NOTE: Default sensor types for all thresholds are automatically generated and on the system by default.
4) Provide the alarm configuration with a Name.
5) Fill out the operation and the value for when the alarm will be active.
6) Select a severity for the alarm.
7) Within the Sensors tab, check the box for any sensors this alarm needs to be applied to.
8) Within the Clip Capture tab, select any cameras that need to record while this alarm is active.
9) Within the Control tab, select and configure any actions that need to take place while this alarm is active.
10) Within the Schedule tab, the alarm configuration can be scheduled to be active during specific time frames. The default is unchecked, making the alarm active 7x24. To configure a restricted schedule, check the box for "Use a schedule to control when this configuration is active" and highlight the specific time frames the alarm needs to be active for.
11) Click OK to save the alarm configuration.
Configuring the Email Server Settings
1) Log into the web interface of the NetBotz appliance using an administrator account.
2) In the upper-right corner of the screen, click Settings and then System.
3) In the left-pane click on SMTP Server.
4) Enter the required information to connect to your Email Server.
5) Click on Send test email, enter your email address, and click Send.
NOTE: If you do not receive the email or the test fails, verify the SMTP Server settings and test again.
6) Click Apply to save the SMTP Server settings.
Creating/Editing/Deleting an Email Notification Policy
1) Log into the web interface of the NetBotz appliance using an administrator account.
2) In the upper-right corner of the screen, click Settings and then Notification.
3) To create a new email notification policy, click on the Add button.
NOTE: To edit an existing email notification policy, click on Edit to the right of the line item.
NOTE: To delete an existing email notification policy, click on Delete to the right of the line item.
4) Provide a descriptive name.
5) Enter the Send to email address.
NOTE: To enter multiple, separate them by commas.
6) Select the alarm severities that should apply to this notification policy.
7) Select the Regional settings.
8) Click OK to save the changes.
Configuring a Trap Receiver and Trap Notification Policy
1) Log into the web interface of the NetBotz appliance using an administrator account.
2) In the upper-right corner of the screen, click Settings and then System.
3) In the left-pane click on SNMP and then the Remote trap receiver tab.
NOTE: NetBotz 700 series appliances can only send traps to one (1) trap receiver destination.
4) Check the box for enable.
5) Fill in the Trap receiver details and SNMP settings.
6) Click Send test trap and verify that the trap was received on the SNMP Trap Receiver destination system.
NOTE: If the trap does not send, verify the settings and test again.
7) Click Apply to save the settings.
8) In the upper-right click on Settings and then Notification.
9) Click Edit on the Default Trap Policy.
10) Select the severities that you wish to send to the trap receiver system.
11) Click OK to save the changes.
