Resolution:
Yes, the cover (or door) of all NEMA type (except NEMA 7/9) general duty, heavy duty, or double throw safety switch, can be padlocked closed to prevent access to the interior. This is a standard feature on all the switches.
EXCEPTION: The NEMA 7/9 enclosures are cast aluminum and the front cover is bolted to the box with 8 bolts.
