Video: What ampere settings are available on PowerPact H, J and L frame breakers?

Product Line:
PowerPact H, J and L frame breakers with electronic trip unit

Environment:
This applies to all PowerPact H, J and L frame breakers with any Micrologic trip unit.

Cause:
The product was purchased before the full load current of the system was known and the ampere rating of the breaker needs to be changed without replacing it.

Resolution:
Here are the settings available for the PowerPact H, J and L frame breakers with Micrologic Standard Trip Units.

If Sensor Rating equals...then available Ir dial settings are...
60 A15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 60 A
100 A35, 40, 45, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 A
150 A50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 125, 150 A
250 A70, 80, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200, 225, 250 A
400 A125, 150, 175, 200, 225, 250, 300, 350, 400 A
600 A200, 225, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500, 600 A

If Micrologic Ammeter or Energy Trip Units are used each of these settings may be adjusted down 1A at a time down to the minimum setting using the trip unit display.
Once completed a MICROTUSEAL can be added to the face of the trip unit to prevent tampering of the settings.

  • I-Line L frame circuit breakers with advanced trip units (Ammeter or Energy style) are available only with 400A or 600A sensor.
  • Settings below minimum dial setting is not possible.  Settings above maximum dial setting is not possible.
  • 100% ratings are not available for 600A sensor.
  • NOTE: The ampere rating on H and J frame thermal-magnetic breakers can NOT be adjusted, however you can adjust the magnetic trip setting on J-frame thermal-mag breakers.
