Cause:
It may be desirable to mount a 150A branch device, a comparatively large device for the typical lighting panelboard application, in a 400A rated panelboard.
Resolution:
Yes, but note that it requires 6 pole spaces and that the maximum amperage breaker that can be mounted across from it is 20A. NOTE: NQOD panelboards are obsolete, superseded by NQ. This FAQ is applicable to NQ.
