What do suffixes 1586 and/or 1586B indicate on a legacy circuit breaker?
Issue:
Looking for details on part number suffixes.

Product line:
Molded case switches

Resolution:
The 1586 suffix indicates this breaker is only for use by Trane. It includes high amp control wire lugs for FA frame, FASTON tabs on left and center poles, load side. It is also UL approved.
The 1586B suffix indicates the breakers were originally sold bulk packaged to the OEM. The breaker with suffix 1586 can be used in place of suffix 1586B.

FHL36000M1586 circuit breaker is obsolete and replaced by the HGL36000S15 molded case switch with S37423. Field install the S37423 onto the center and left pole, OFF end only.
The replacement switch is not a drop-in replacement to the FHL. Retrofitting is needed.
