What are the override and withstand ratings for Powerpact automatic molded case switches?

Issue:
Override and withstand ratings for Powerpact molded case switch

Product Line:
Circuit Breakers

Resolution:
All automatic molded case switches will trip to self protect in case of a major fault. This is sometimes referred to as an override rating. The self protection trip point for Powerpact switches is shown on the attached Digest page, as are the withstand ratings. Note that withstand and override or trip point are not the same thing. The withstand rating is the AIC of the circuit the molded case switch can be applied on when protected by an appropriate circuit breaker or fuse per the footnote, and the trip point is the current level at which it will open.
