How does Forcing work in RemoteConnect compared to Logic Editor?

The Object Database in the SCADAPack x70 and Logic Editor derived variables are connected. One way to set data to a required state or value is through the use of forcing. Usually, you use it when doing maintenance or commissioning on a system.

When you force a database object with Quality “Online” to a particular state or value, the logic variable is set to the same forced state or value when you apply the forcing action.

Forcing1

When you force a database object with Quality "Online, Updated by Logic" to a particular state or value, the logic variable is set to the same forced state or value when you apply the forcing action, if the Logic program is not overwriting the value. With the value forced in the database, it can override the state or value if the logic program is attempting to change it.

Forcing2

When the box is checked, the object is under the exclusive control of the logic application. Requests from other sources, for example DNP3 or Modbus protocol requests to update the value of the object or to control the object, are blocked and a protocol status code is generated. You will not be able to force the object in RemoteConnect.

In Logic Editor:

EBOOL is the only variable type in the SCADAPack x70 Logic Editor that supports forcing. For managing forcing on data values of all types, use SCADAPack x70 object forcing.
