North American electrical delivery systems are timeworn and are being overworked due to increasing population. Surge problems appear to be worsening
due to the increased use of electronics components / circuits in all equipments. As the tiny integrated circuits used in electronics proliferate, more of them
are exposed to the dangers of power line surges.
