How does the Initial User Application Language work in Vijeo Designer?

Issue:
Looking for an explanation on how to use the Multi-Language feature in Vijeo Designer to help localize an application to be sold outside of North America.

Product Line:
Vijeo Designer (all versions)

Resolution:
In a Vijeo Designer Project, the "Initial User Application Language" refers to the User Application Language that the runtime will use after the first download. Note that this is not the always the same as the System Language. The User Application language refers to the custom strings that a programmer sets up and uses in the HMI. The System Language is the language of the built in (OS) messages of the HMI

After the first download, whenever the language is changed, the ID will be written to the system variable _UserApplicationLanguage. This value is stored in SRAM. This means the unit will remember which User Application Language it was last using when the power goes out. The language does not revert back to the initial application language as defined in the project because it has been overwritten. The only way to default to a specific language at startup is to create an action that sets the _UserApplicationLanguage variable.
