How to use GOOSE for Fault Trip Discrimination with Sepam series 60
What we do when there is a request like these:
"i want to configure inhibition of ANSI 67 unit 1 upstream relay by picking-up protection ANSI 50 unit 2 from outgoing cubicles and ANSI 67 unit 2 of incoming-outgoing cubicle.?"
ANSWER:
The full answer is presented into attached document: "
Fault Trip Discrimination Operation with GOOSE messages and logic inputs on Sepam 60".
Here i will point out few fundamental aspects of this kind of application.
First of all the application engineer need to understand very well the process of Discrimination on Sepam series 60 when use IEC 61850 GOOSE messages.
Discrimination with IEC 61850 GOOSE messages is implemented into Sepam series 60 and 80 when use ACE850  communication  interface.
Both, Edition 1 and Edition 2 of  standard IEC 61850 can be used.
The choice is determined by the edition type which is supported by SCADA Client if there is such implementation.
If there is not SCADA Client but only relays network, Edition 2 implementation should have priority.
Application engineer should have good knowledge of:
- Sepam 60 series IED protections;
- IEC61850 Standard and GOOSE Technology;
- how  IEC61850 Standard and GOOSE Technology is implemented into Sepam IED;
- software used to implement such an application:
- SFT2841, last version, to do Sepam IED settings:
- CET 850, to create System Configuration Language for IEC61850 application;
- Sepam 60 installation and configuration.
The complete discussion about how to use GOOSE for Fault Trip Discrimination with Sepam series 60 is presented into attached document.
