Issue:
Using single phase input voltage will affect energy monitoring?
Product Line:
Altivar 630 drives
Environment:
All
Cause:
Need details of energy monitoring in single phase environment
Resolution:
Yes, using single phase input voltage will affect energy monitoring.
The energy monitoring functionality is based on nominal current drive with error estimation +/- 5% .
Please review the Annex document for ATV630 drives (https://www.se.com/us/en/download/document/EAV64300/ ) for specific details when attempting to use an ATV630 drive with single phase input.
Because a drive being used with single phase input voltage must be oversized to be able to provide sufficient power to a 3 phase motor, the margin for error will be much bigger, and so the energy monitoring is far from reality.
If measuring is needed, an external device would have to be used (like a PowerLogic for example).
