Drive Will Not Connect
  • Card
    • Confirm Card Module is installed. The ATV600 drive (only) has integrated Modbus TCP and not Ethernet IP. Option module card must be used.
    • Only works with Firmware V1.5IExx or above for ATV600 drives only. Should work on any ATV900 drive.
  • Installation
    • Make sure proper Ethernet cable is connected to the appropriate Ethernet serial port.
    • Pin Layout - Make sure to use proper pinouts for cables.
    • Isolate any electrical interference
      • Use conduits or other isolating materials
      • Separate control and power connections
    • Add terminating resistors if the drive is at the end or the last of device in the network.
    • Network
      • Check for any duplicate addresses on the network.
      • Check to make sure you have proper configured assemblies
    • Programming
      • Check Basic Settings on the drive. Make sure the following is set:
        • IP Assignment Mode
          • Set to Fixed
        • IP Address
        • Subnet Mask
        • Gateway Address

Drive Connects But Will Not Run
  • Network
  • Programming on the Drive
    • Confirm drive is setup for Network Control
      • Check Command and Reference Menu
        • [Complete settings] [Command and Reference]
          • Important Note!: For ATV600  drives only, the Ethernet IP option is a Communication Module it is not Embedded. When selecting option for Ethernet IP use the option for "Reference Frequency Via Fieldbus Module" [Com. Module] not [Embedded Ethernet]
  • Troubleshooting
    • Check Communication Map
      • [Display] [Communication map]
        • Check Command Channel
        • Command Register
        • Ref Freq Channel
        • Ref Freq
    • Disable FDR settings if not using a Faulty Device Replacement.
    • Check LEDs on the drive
    • The following FAQ describes the LEDs status for Ethernet IP Field-bus for the Altivar Process Drives
  • Reference attached manuals for further troubleshooting
