Goals and Symptoms

When attempting to link modules to a meter the error message 'bad handle detected' is displayed in Designer. In the event log there may be errors such as the following:
Client Subsystem: can not add statement: Ball_Plant_3.MDP_6 does not exist in the NOM database

Creating a new module to link to the meter does not help to fix the problem.

Causes and Fixes

The following solution should solve the issue:

1. Restart the ION Services
2. If that does not solve the problem, stop all ION Services, delete the tree file (...ION Enterprise\config\trees) for the malfunctioning devices, then start the services again.
