Modicon M262 - How to solve a conflict of IP address between USB and Ethernet interfaces?
By default the IP address of the USB port of the Modicon M262 controller is 192.168.200.1:

In some customer's use cases this IP address conflicts with the existing network configuration.

From EcoStruxure Machine Expert V1.2 and the firmware version V5.0.4.7 of the Modicon M262 controller, it is possible to change the IP address of the USB port by modifying the address through the Post Configuration file. The Post Configuration file (Machine.cfg) includes 2 new parameters allowing the user to modify the IP address of the USB port:

The Post Configuration is accessible from EcoStruxure Machine Expert through the menu "Build":

It can be generated offline or edited online. The file will be located in the folder \Cfg inside the controller.

Note:
  • The new IP adress will be applied after restarting the controller.
  • In case the user set an IP address for the USB port which is in the same range of IP address as one of the Ethernet interfaces of the Modicon M262 controller, this Ethernet interface will start with his default IP address.

Once the IP address of the USB port has been changed, the user has to modify the IP address of the PC interface (SE RNDIS PSX M262 Connection) in order to be in the same subnet.

Note: In case of disconnection or restart of the Modicon M262 controller, the PC interface could lose the IP address you set and take the default one (192.168.200.2).
