Issue
Explain why the programming panel software (i.e.., 'ProWORX 32', 'ProWORX NxT' and Concept) fails to
reconnect to the PLC, if the '140NOE771xx' Ethernet module's physical TCP/IP connection to Connexium
Fiber Optic switch is lost. This is found to only happen when multiple Connexium switch are linked
together using the Fiber Optic connection.
Product Line
ProWORX 32, Concept
Environment
Windows 7, Windows 10
Resolution
If the programming panel software (i.e., 'Concept', 'ProWORX NxT' or 'ProWORX 32') that is connected to the
PLC via a '140NOE771xx' Ethernet module suddenly gets disconnected, the PLC could be logged back into
without any problem, when the physical TCP/IP connections are each connected to the same Connexium switch.
If the programming panel software (i.e., 'Concept', 'ProWORX NxT' or 'ProWORX 32') that is connected to the
PLC through an '140NOE771xx' module suddenly gets disconnected, attempts to immediately reconnect to the
PLC module could fail when the physical TCP/IP connections are each located on separate Connexium switches
that are linked by a Fiber Optic cable). Further attempts to reconnect immediately after the first attempt will also
fail.
- Concept will return the following message.-
- Message Central in 'ProWORX 32' will return the following message:.
- ProWORX NxT will return the following error message.
The problem occurs because not enough time has been allowed for the port on the Connexium
switch to get reset.
To resolve the problem, wait approximately 2-3 minutes before attempting a reconnection to the PLC
