Summary:
The following list provides important initial troubleshooting steps to verify OPC communication for PME. By following these steps, users can help identify and resolve issues that may be preventing OPC communication between PME and other systems.
- Ensure the OpcEnum service is running and set to use the LocalSystem account.
- Ensure the ION OPC Data Access Server is running in the Windows Services.
- Refresh OPC server settings from the Management Console (Tools->System->Update OPC Server).
- Use OPCTestClient (found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\Power Monitoring Expert\system\bin) to verify OPC functionality from the PME side. Refer to the article "how to use the ION OPC test client to read OPC tags in PME" for additional guidance: https://www.se.com/ca/en/faqs/FA298019/
- Confirm that the Windows credentials being used on the OPC client are compatible with the OPC server, meaning that the same credentials work on both computers.
- Open TCP port 135 on both the client and server computers. Refer to this article for assistance: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/windows/it-pro/windows-server-2008-R2-and-2008/cc774368(v=ws.10)?redirectedfrom=MSDN
