How is level detection of a liquid in a transparent bottle achieved using capacitive proximity detectors?
Capacitive proximity sensors utilise a non-contact capacitive coupling principle to detect any object irrespective of material or conductivity, for example metals, minerals, wood, plastic, glass, cardboard, fluids etc.

Liquid level detection in a transparent bottle is therefore possible using two capacitive sensors arranged as shown;

Sensitivity adjustment of the sensor is performed using a small screwdriver as shown;

Schneider Electric capacitive proximity sensors (XT1 type) are available in 12mm through to 32mm diameter sizes with nominal sensing distances of 2mm through to 15mm respectively.
