what is the recommended torque settings for a 13a socket Ultimate Screwless flat Plate
The torque values for terminal screws is information that historically has not been provided by accessory suppliers.
However, in this particular instance, the “Ultimate Screwless, 13A, 2 gang switch socket, has been tested and certified to the BS 1363-2. For this particular product and terminal screw size, this standard specifies a tightening torque of 0.8Nm for the verification of the mechanical strength of the screw and terminal assembly.
Therefore, we believe that a tightening torque value of 0.6 to 0.8 Nm should be appropriate for this product. This is of course also dependant on the installation and the size and number of cables being connected. Judgment should therefore be used to ensure the terminal screws are sufficiently tight for any given application.
