SOMOVE version 2.9.7 to version 2.9.8 Update, possible issues

When carrying out an update from SoMove version 2.9.7 to version 2.9.8, it's possible that you will see some pop up warning screens within windows.

This guide will help you to navigate through them to carry out the update easily without uninstalling SoMove version 2.9.7

Before running the installer, please make sure to unplug your SoMove cable and close any instances of SoMove that may already be running.

When you run the installer, it will first carry out some system compatibility checks and make sure that there is enough space to install.

When the installation proceeds, you may see the following message:

SoMove 2.9.8 pop up window to say that another version of Somove is already running

Click on the 'OK' button to proceed.

You will now see :

SoMove 2.9.8 pop up window to say that a sub component installation was aborted

Please click on 'NO' to continue. You will now see the following :

SoMove 2.9.8 pop up window stating that running applications need to be closed before they can be updated

Once again, click 'OK' to continue. The application will attempt to close and re-open these applications automatically for you.

From this point, the installation should continue as normal and you will finally see the installation complete notification.

SoMove 2.9.8 pop up window to say that installation is complete

Click on the 'Finish' button.

You can now plug in your SoMove cable and test.

Upon first run, it's possible that you may be asked to 'update the catalog' if it has changed. Just click 'OK' to allow this and wait until SoMove opens.

You should now be able to use SoMove as normal.
