Windows Interactive Services Detection “Error 1: Incorrect Function” When Starting the Service for Scada As A Service

Issue
When starting Windows Interactive Services Detection, Error 1: Incorrect Function is returned.

Cause
Windows Server no longer allows interactive services by default.

Always backup the registry before making any changes.*
Resolution
In order to get this service to run you will have to adjust a registry key by following steps below.

1. Open registry editor by going to start and typing in regedit.exe.
2. On the registry tree, navigate to HKEY_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows.
3. Find the DWORD "NoInteractiveServices".
4. Change the value from a 1 to 0.
5. Restart the Server.



Note: Windows Interactive Services is not used with PowerScada Expert 8.0 SR1. It is only used with older versions.
