How to change shift start time default values on a CM4000 series meter
Issue
User wants to modify shifts start time for kWh per shift calculations in CM4000 meters.

Product Line
CM4000
CM4250
CM4000T

Environment
Modbus register list

Cause
By default First, Second and Third shift start times are set to 420, 900 and 1380 minutes respectively from midnight.

Resolution
In order to configure the shift time, registers 6427, 6428, and 6429 need to be modified. Those registers need to hold the number of minutes for that shift to start after midnight.

For example, if a shift starts at 1:00 am, that is 60 minutes after midnight. Therefore, the register needs to be set to 60.

First, Second and Third shift start times may be changed as required. To modify those values, the following command writes must be executed to the meter:

Write 9020 to register 8000 (Requested Command - Open Setup Session)
Write appropriate values in minutes range (0-1439) to registers 6427, 6428 and 6429 respectively.
Write 1 to register 8001 (Command Parameters - Save Changes)
Write 9021 to register 8000 (Requested Command - Save Setup Session)

This will set First, Second and Third shift start times as required. The values are stored in registers 6427-6429 (Units - Minutes) as shown below.

RegNameTypeUnitsRangeNotes
6427Shift Start Time - First ShiftIntegerMinutes0 - 1439Minutes from midnight.
Default = 420 (7AM).
6428Shift Start Time - Second ShiftIntegerMinutes0 - 1439Minutes from midnight.
Default = 900 (3PM).
6429Shift Start Time - Third ShiftIntegerMinutes0 - 1439Minutes from midnight.
Default = 1380 (11PM).

*Note: For 2 shifts set First Shift Start Time equal to Second Shift Start Time (6427 = 6428)
