Question: What are the rules to respect to set BMENOC301/311 (type .2 and .3) IP address configuration?
Answer: Since version V2.05 on BMENOC301/311, Modbus TCP IOscanning is supported across router. However, since this version, when the gateway IP address is entered, it is expected than MainIP (Main IP+1) AND IP A and IP B to be in the same subnet. Otherwise, Modbus TCP IOscanning will not work correctly.
Configuration 1
Workaround 1 : if IP A and IP B are in a different subnet than Main IP, set a gateway address to 0.0.0.0 will make the IO scanner working correctly.
Configuration 2
Workaround 2 : set IP A and IP B in the same subnet than Main IP will make the IO scanner working correctly.
Configuration 3
Note1 : Starting from version V15.0 , Control Expert DOES NOT allow the gateway address to be configured when Main IP/Main IP+1 and IPA/IPB are in different sub-nets.
Configuration 4
Note2 : In case an application with a BMENOC configured as shown in "configuration 1" is downloaded into the M580 CPU , depending of the previous BMENOC configuration, the IOscanner may work but only until the NOC module will be rebooted.
