What is RSTP?
RSTP is Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol. This protocol shortens the time required to reconfigure an OSI Layer 2 network in order to locate a new path after an existing path has failed.
Standard STP (Spanning Tree Protocol) can take up to 60 seconds to perform such a recovery. RSTP improves on that recovery time.
