What ports are used by PowerChute Network Shutdown for communications with VMware vCenter Server and hosts?
Issue:
What ports are used by PowerChute Network Shutdown for communications with VMware vCenter Server and hosts?

Product:
PowerChute Network Shutdown versions 4.x

Environment:
VMware vCenter Server 6.7, 7.x
VMware ESXi Hosts 6.7, 7.x

Cause:
Informational

Solution:
PowerChute Network Shutdown will use HTTP port 80 or HTTPS port 443 to communicate with VMware vCenter Server, and VMware ESXi Hosts 6.7, 7.x. We do not recommend using other ports.

NOTE: When PowerChute Network Shutdown is configured with VMware vCenter Server 6.7, or 7.x, it will communicate with vCenter over port 80 or 443. Depending on the port selected, that port must be open on the individual ESXi host/s to allow for a graceful shutdown of the host/s.
