Product Line
WinPM.Net and PM8000 FW 2.x
Environment
WinPM.Net V7.x, V8.x & V9
Cause
When using new PM8000 meter (with FW greater than 2.X with newer template) in older version of WinPM.Net software (lower than WinPM.Net V9) or Upgrading newer meter firmware with new template in the existing older WinPM.Net V7.x & V8.x system. Few objects registers will not be retrieved as shown in the below images because the Vista diagrams are tied to a template rather than firmware.
Resolution
For Issue 1:
This issue can be fixed by having the corrected newer version of VISTA diagram files with respect to PM8000 newer template V2.X. Please follow the below steps
Example: Change the following Key by replacing the 7.1 with your version number in your registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Siemens Industry\WinPM.Net\8.0\DeviceInfo\8000\DefaultFirmware
Make sure that the location matches where all the other DeviceInfo keys are available/present.
For Issue 2:
For this issue only .dgm files need to be updated. It can be fixed by having the corrected newer version of VISTA diagram files with respect to PM8000 newer template V2.X, just Unzip the 8000_DefaultDiagrams_WinPM9_Updated.zip file and copy the files into the respective WinPM.Net folders. - Unzip the 8000_DefaultDiagrams_WinPM9_Updated.zip file and copy the files into the respective WinPM.Net folders. The zip files have the folder structure so that the files can be copied into the correct place of Default Diagrams.
- Attached regkey has the default directory for WinPM.Net V7.1, you can run the regkey directly if the WinPM.Net is installed in the default directory, but it is recommended to verify it by Edit the regkey 8000_regExport_WinPM9_7.1.reg and check for the location and version number. In case of V8.x Edit them so that they would match the WinPM system you have installed.
Example: Change the following Key by replacing the 7.1 with your version number in your registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Siemens Industry\WinPM.Net\8.0\DeviceInfo\8000\DefaultFirmware
Make sure that the location matches where all the other DeviceInfo keys are available/present.
- Run the PM8000.sql script. This adds the proper version to the EN50160 frameworks.
