Issue:
What is the procedure for resetting a breaker with a motor operator and SDE after a fault?
Product Line:
PowerPact H, J and L frame breakers
Environment:
This procedure applies to the following breakers:Powerpact H, J and L that have motor operators installed with SDE contacts.
Cause:
Need to know how you reset a breaker after an electrical fault when the breaker has a motor operator and an SDE contact installed.
Resolution:
Mandatory manual reset following tripping due to an electrical fault (with over current trip switch): After clearing the fault, manually charge the charging handle until window says ``Charged``. Manually charging with the charging handle moves the breaker to open position from the tripped position, and resets the SDE. This can be done in the auto mode. It is not necessary to move switch to the manual mode. At this point the motor operator is ready for a remote closing command.
