Steps for getting the kernel dump files:
- Make sure you have a User Named Kernel with password kernel in Project Editor with Roles set as ES_Admin.
- Open Powerlogic Scada Runtime Manager. Highlight the Process you want to take the kernel dump for, right click on it and select kernel.
-
- - The kernel window will open as shown below. Then go to tools then click on Reset Stats
-
- - Then go to View and click on Cicode. Then it will ask you for the password. The password is kernel.
-
- - After typing the password, a new window will open in which you type in it the function dumpkernel(0xC000,) and click enter. The return value should be 0 as shown below.
-After you have done this for all the I/O Servers, Alarm server and trend server your next step will be to copy the created files. You should see a file for each I/O, Alarm and trend Servers
-Navigate to Citect explorer and select View, Log Folder, as shown below: This will take you to the location of the Log Files.
-The files you would need are the ones that are created today with the word Kernel in the beginning of the name and .dat file extension.
