What can cause an motor short circuit SCF5 on an ATV61 or ATV71 drive?
Issue:
ATV61/71 SCF5 fault.

Environment:

Cause:
SCF5= Motor short circuit fault = Short-circuit at drive output

Resolution:
Check the motor cables connecting the drive to the motor.
Check the motor’s insulation. Using a 1,000V Megger, test the motor for windings or insulation issues.
Recheck all motor parameters. Be sure that your parameters match the information on the motor's nameplate.
Perform tests via the [1.10 DIAGNOSTICS] menu.
Run the drive open circuit (with the motor disconnected and OPL turned off) and check the drive's output terminals for balanced voltages phase to phase
Inspect and repair the drive.
