Setting up Diagnostic Collection to File for Offline Analysis on SCADAPack E RTUs

Issue

SCADAPack E RTUs have powerful diagnostic capabilities to perform variety of troubleshooting tasks. Diagnostic display is one of the main tool to troubleshoot the issue online. However, online sessions are not always possible and quite limited to track the issue with unpredicted behaviour. In this case, collection of the diagnostic can be done in a file. This resolution contain the information on how to setup file diagnostic collection.

Environment

Windows OSes, E Configurator Remote Command line

Resolution

In E Configurator Transfer menu launch Remote Command Line:

you should be able to see the user prompt:

call filediag command:

to stop diagnostic collection type filediag 0 command:

the rtudiag.log file should appear in root directory. You could check by issuing dir command:

the next step is to read the rtudiag.log file using E Configurator:

type the file name rtudiag.log in the File Name field:

wait for file transfer:

There are different filters that could be used to extend and/or limit the volume of diagnostic information. Please refer to the Command Line and Diagnostic Commands section in Operational Technical Reference Manual
Screenshots for this resolution article are showing the file system from SCADAPack 53x E RTU. For SCADAPack 57x the File System is the same, however SCADAPack 3xx E and SCADAPack ES / ER have drive names i. e. C: instead of /user folder
