NetBotz v3 | How do I configure network settings?
Issue:
Process for configuring an IP address and other network settings on a v3 NetBotz Appliance.
Product Line:
NetBotz v3 Wall Appliance: 355/356 (NBWL0355/6) & 455/456 (NBWL0455/6)
NetBotz v3 Rack Appliance: 450/451 (NBRK0450/1), 550 (NBRK0550), & 570 (NBRK0570)
Environment:
NetBotz v3 (all firmware versions)
Resolution:
In order to configure the IP Address on your NetBotz Appliance, select one of the configuration options below:
Configuration Option 1 - DHCP
*NOTE: HTTP and HTTPS turned off by default on NetBotz 4.7
1) Power on the NetBotz Appliance and connect the appliance to your network.
2) Log into your DHCP server to find the IP Address that the appliance received.
3) Enter the IP Address into a web browser to ensure that you are able to access the appliance. You can log in and manage the appliance using the Advanced view application. Instructions for download can be found in knowledge base NetBotz 300-500 Series | Downloading and Installing the Advanced View Management Software .
Configuration Option 2 - Terminal Emulation
1) Connect the USB Cable between the NetBotz Appliance and your computer.
2) Within Device Manager under "Ports (COM & LPT) will be a USB Serial Port, with a COM port listed after it. This COM# will be used in the next steps.
NOTE: If there is not a USB Serial Port listed, the FTDI driver is most likely not installed. Instructions for downloading/installing the driver can be found in knowledge base NetBotz v3 | Serial connection issues .
3) Open a serial terminal emulator, such as PuTTy or HyperTerminal.
4) Connect using the following serial connection parameters:
6) Within 5 seconds, press enter.
7) Follow the prompts to set the networking information.
8) Once finished, connect the NetBotz Appliance to the network. The appliance can be viewed in a web browser or managed using the Advanced View application. Configuration Option 3 - Changing IP Address using Advanced View
NOTE: To use this method, you need to be able to communicate with your NetBotz Appliance using the Advanced View application.
1) Download and install the Advanced View Application. Instructions for download can be found in knowledge base NetBotz 300-500 Series | Downloading and Installing the Advanced View Management Software .
NOTE: If Advanced View is already installed, skip step 1.
2) Log into your NetBotz Appliance as an administrator using the Advanced View application.
3) Select the Configuration Tab and then under Appliance Settings select Network Interfaces.
4) Change the network interface values to what is required and then select OK to save the changes.

- NOTE: The "Serial Configuration Utility" is no longer supported and cannot be used.

1) Power on the NetBotz Appliance and connect the appliance to your network.
2) Log into your DHCP server to find the IP Address that the appliance received.

- Speed (baud): 38400
- Data bits: 8
- Stop Bits: 1
- Parity: None
- Flow Control: None

8) Once finished, connect the NetBotz Appliance to the network. The appliance can be viewed in a web browser or managed using the Advanced View application. Configuration Option 3 - Changing IP Address using Advanced View
