How to monitor the health of the signal channels of a 140DDO35300 module?
Context
In Control Expert, there is no IODDT for the Quantum platform discrete modules. The only IODDTs which are available for I/O modules are T_ANA_BI_WE, T_ANA_IN_VE and T_ANA_IN_VWE for analog modules and T_CNT_105 IODDT for the counting modules. However, the other existing solution if the discrete module allows it is to use the status byte. Status information is only available if the module supports a status byte. For the meaning of the status byte, see the module descriptions (From page 49 up to page 50 for the 140DDO35300). The status information of all the modules of a station is managed by a %IW word table. To access this configuration screen, in the project browser, expand local bus in configuration and right-click on Quantum local drop and select Open in the contextual menu. In the station configuration screen, enter the starting address of this table. Finally, to find out the status of a module's channels, you can create an animated animation table with the %IW corresponding to the address status table. For more details and to understand step by step how to use the status byte, please see page 35 to page 38 of the attached documentation.
