The Advanced Modbus | SCADAPack | Realflo | Flowrun object in Geo SCADA shows all available options to a user when the flowrun object is initially configured.
Once the flowrun object is put into service and is communicating, the Realflo driver reads the configuration from the flow computer (SCADAPack) that it is connected to. If the configuration reveals that an older flow computer is running in the SCADAPack, the driver will remove any menu items that are not available (supported) for that flow computer version.
This article aims to highlight the options that may not be displayed when the Reaflo driver reads the flowrun configuration and discovers that an older flow computer version is being used.
Water Flow Run Object
The Meter Type setting ‘E+H Promass 300’ was added in Geo SCADA 2022 with support for Realflo flow computer 7.10.1. If a customer is using an older version of Geo SCADA or an older version of flow computer is running in the SCADAPack, the user will not see the ‘E+H Promass 300’ option in the Meter Type drop down menu on the Coriolis Meter tab.
Gas Flow Run Object
The Type setting ‘AGA-8 (2017) Gerg’ was added in Geo SCADA 2021 with support for Realflo flow computer 7.02. Like above, if a customer is using an older version of Geo SCADA or an older version of flow computer is running in the SCADAPack, the user will not see the ‘AGA-8 (2017) Gerg’ option in the Type drop down menu on the Compressibility Calculation tab.
The Type setting ‘AGA-9’ was also added in Geo SCADA 2021 and flow computer 7.02. Older versions of Geo SCADA and flow computer will result in the user not seeing ‘AGA-9’ in the drop-down menu on the Flow Calculation tab.
The Flow Run Number was increased from a maximum of ‘10’ to a maximum of ‘20’ in Geo SCADA 2022 and flow computer 7.10.1. Older versions of Geo SCADA and flow computer will result in the user not having the ability to set this value higher than ‘10’.
(Note: a value of ‘20’ is only supported by SCADAPack x70 controllers. A value of ‘10’ is supported by SCADAPack x70 controllers and SCADAPack32 controllers. All other SCADAPack controllers support a maximum flow run number of 1, 2, 3 or 4; depending on the controller type.)
