The Virtual ViewX Manager defines the Windows user that connects to the Virtual ViewX Server. This is configured on the ‘Sessions’ tab and ‘Applications’ tab as follows:
If the Virtual ViewX server is running Windows 10 or Windows 11, the Windows user shown (in the ‘User name’ field above) will be VVXLocalUser.
Note: If the Virtual ViewX server is running Windows Server, there are two Windows accounts that are used: VirtualUI and VVXLocaluser. More information on user accounts may be found in the Geo SCADA Virtual ViewX Troubleshooting Guide, section 7, which is downloadable from the link below:

As can be seen in the screen shot above, the password for the VVXLocalUser account is hidden. When troubleshooting a Virtual ViewX configuration that is not working properly, it may be necessary to reset the password for the VVXLocaluUser account.
The password may be reset by following the steps below:
- Launch the Windows 'Computer Management' app
- Navigate to the System Tools | Local Users and Groups | Users branch as shown in the screen shot below
- You should see a user in the list named 'VVXLocalUser'
- Right-click on this user and a menu should appear. Select 'Set password' from the menu.
- Once you have changed the password you will then need to enter this password into the VVX Manager | Applications | Sessions tab
- Finally, you will need to restart the Thinfinity service(s) by opening the Windows Services, right-clicking on the Thinfinity object(s) and selecting 'Restart' from the menu
