MANILA, Philippines, XX November 2021 – Schneider Electric, the leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation and named the World’s Most Sustainable Corporation in 2021 by Corporate Knights, is looking for game changers around the world. In collaboration with software partner AVEVA, Schneider Electric announces the launch of Schneider Go Green 2022, their annual student competition to find the latest bold ideas in digital and sustainable innovation.
With Schneider Electric committing to providing twice the number of opportunities for interns, apprentices and fresh graduate hires by 2025 as part of its Schneider Sustainability Impact Q2 2021 Report, Go Green provides students with the chance to present their ideas to top industry leaders and receive mentorship from experts and professionals, along with considerations for job opportunities and the chance of a winning prizes worth up to 10,000 Euros.

Schneider Go Green is a major event for Business, Engineering, Marketing, and Innovation students worldwide. The 2021 competition saw a record number of 25,000 young innovators from more than 3,000 universities in 130 countries taking part. This year’s competition should attract even more interest thanks to the five specific topics covering “Access to Energy”, “Homes of the Future”, “Supply Chain of the Future”, “Grids of the Future” and “De[coding] the Future”.
An opportunity for Filipino students across the country
Over the years, the Philippines has placed strongly in Go Green. In 2013, Ateneo De Manila University students Lorenz Ray Payonga and Alyssa Tricia Vintola were crowned World Champions, besting 25 other teams from around the world. The pair was also the first Go Green Champions from Asia. In 2015, a team from Polytechnic University of the Philippines won third place in the Global Finals in Paris, France while in 2019, a team from Ateneo de Manila University reached the Global Finals in Barcelona, Spain. Most recently, BS Biology Students from University of the Philippines – Visayas were crowned as the champions of 2021 Go Green Country Finals.
For Go Green 2022, all participating teams of two to four students are expected to identify as gender diverse in line with Schneider Electric’s policy of promoting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Schneider Go Green is open to Bachelor’s or Master’s students worldwide and team members must be studying in the same country for the duration of the competition. Deadline for Philippine submissions is 14 February 2022. Participants will have the opportunity to be mentored by a wide range of experts from across all industries, emerge as the 2022 Country Champions and win 100,000 Pesos, represent the Philippines in the East Asia Japan Regional Finals, and finally compete in the Global Finals.
