What can cause an exception error when trying to connect Modbus TCP on the ATV600 / ATV900 process drives?

Issue:
Unable to connect to ATV600 via Modbus TCP.  Getting "Exception Error" when trying to connect.

Product Line:
ATV600 / ATV900 series process drives.

Environment:
All models, All serial numbers.

Cause:
Unexpected fault condition.

Resolution:
Check that the Unit ID in your Generic Ethernet Module matches the Unit ID of the device you are trying to connect to.
