Why is my Battery Frame on my Smart UPS Modular Ultra recognized as battery frame #2?
Issue:

My XRCC (battery frame communication card) is set to position 1, but is being recognized as frame #2 instead of frame #1.

Product Line:

Smart UPS Modular Ultra

Environment:

All models, all serial numbers

Resolution:

In order for the UPS to recognize your XRCC as frame #1, the frame # setting switch has to be a position 0 (as labeled on the switch itself). That position is at 0 degrees / 3 o'clock / horizontal pointing right.  If it points to position 1 on the original battery frame label, the UPS sees that as frame #2 instead of frame #1.

NOTE: You can use any number for a single frame, but if you are using all 6 frames, you'll want to start at position 0/frame 1.   If two frames have their switches set to the same position, the system detects that and shows a warning - 0x1072 Invalid Configuration – multiple XR frames with the same address.

The label will be modified as shown below so the switch opening is better aligned with the number used by the UPS
