Web Reporter report packs and RS will not install on Windows XP SP3 machine

1) Check to that the ASPNET User account has been created

To do this, click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management.

  • 2) Expand Local Users and Groups and click the Users folder

NOTE: ASPNET does not always install properly on Windows XP SP3, so the user account may not be created. SQL Server requires that the ASPNET account exists so that Reporting Services can be installed properly during installation. ION Enterprise Web Reporter will not function as expected if Reporting Services has not been installed properly.

  • 3) If the ASPNET account doesnt exist, it must be reinstalled before installing SQL Server and ION Enterprise. This step may be skipped if the ASPNET user account exists.

      • Open Command Prompt: Start > Run > Type "cmd"

        Go to c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727>

        Run the command "aspnet_regiis -i"

Run the command "iisreset" to restart IIS

    4) Check that the ASPNET account was created (refresh the view)
