Power Monitoring Expert 2022 Designer Diagram Selection
Issue
.cfg file for ION9000, ION9000T, PM8000, ION7400 meters with V3.1.0 firmware are not found in the [Power Monitoring Expert install folder]\system\diagram\nd folder.

Product
Power monitoring Expert (PME) 2022

Environment
Designer

Resolution
Starting with PME 2022 and V3.1.0 firmware for ION Meters, Designer diagram files are no longer created. The information needed to populate a diagram in designer is located in the framework file. The framework files are located in [PME]\config\fmwk\nd\ by default.

Designer will look for a .fwn file with the exact same match as the template script of a meter. For example, a PM8000 meter with a default template will have a template string 8000_V3.1.0.0.0. The file name in [PME]\config\fmwk\nd\ folder will be 8000_V3.1.0.0.0.fwn.

This feature can be used for custom templates as well. If a meter has a non default template string, user can save a .fwn file in the [PME]\config\fmwk\nd\ folder that Designer can use as a starting point for any meter Designer does not already have a saved .cfg file.

The diagram selection for designer will follow the following 4 options when determining what diagram to open for a selected node.
1) Designer will check if there is an existing .cfg file in [PME install]\config\diagrams\nd
-
2) Designer will read template string and try to match to default value via Windows registry

3) Designer will read Factory module Template and look for .fwn file with exact match [Template].fwn

4) If no diagram option is found in steps 1 through 3, user is prompted to select a framework file from a list generated by the contents of the [PME install]\config\diagrams\nd folder
